A cross-diffusive evolution system arising from biological transport networks

چکیده

In this paper, we are concerned with a cross-diffusive evolution system arising from biological transport networks. We study the general regularity properties of solutions to corresponding Dirichlet-Neumann initial-boundary value problem (DNibvp). By applying divergence equations and Dirichlet heat semigroup, find that DNibvp possesses globally classical solution which is unique uniformly bounded. Based on uniform boundedness, establish existence steady states by means dynamical methods. Our results demonstrate transient will stabilize stationary in infinite time an exponential time-decay rate.

Cross-channel advective–diffusive transport by a monochromatic traveling wave

The cross-channel tracer flux due to the combined effects of advection and diffusion is considered for two-dimensional incompressible flow in a channel, where the flow is that due to a monochromatic traveling wave and the boundary conditions at the walls are fixed tracer concentration. The tracer flux is computed numerically over a wide range of the parameters e 5U/c and d5K/cL , with U the max...

Traveling waves for a lattice dynamical system arising in a diffusive endemic model

This paper is concerned with a lattice dynamical system modeling the evolution of susceptible and infective individuals at discrete niches. We prove the existence of traveling waves connecting the disease-free state to non-trivial leftover concentrations. We also characterize the minimal speed of traveling waves and we prove the non-existence of waves with smaller speeds.

Evolution, Interactions, and Biological Networks

T he study of networks has expanded rapidly over the last 10 years; networks are now widely recognized not only as outcomes of complex interactions, but as key determinants of structure, function, and dynamics in systems that span the biological, physical, and social sciences [1–4]. The " new science of networks " [5] has introduced novel paradigms of systems behavior, including small-world str...

The Evolution of Transport Networks

Between 1900 and 2000, the length of paved roads in the United States increased from 240 km to 6,400,000 km (Peat 2002, BTS 2002) with virtually 100% of the U.S. population having almost immediate access to paved roadways. Similarly, in 1830 there were 37 km of railroad in the United States, but by 1920 total track mileage had increased more than ten-thousand times to 416,000 km miles, however ...
